(while doing a backup before an update is a good protocol, I did not expect that update to do do an update to the browser and wipe away favorites instead of adding them to the browser).
If that means I need to remove the new version of Edge, if it is possible, I'll do that. My objective is to recover those favorites I had saved. Sorry if I gave too much info, but I figured it might help. and yes, it is a 64-bit operating system. While the items stated "amd64," the About screen indicates the processor is an Intel Celeron g4900 at 3.1 ghz 3.1 ghz (right off the screen). This computer is a HP Slim Desktop 290-p0XXX (just going off the About screen, and not looking for the exact model). 2) Right-click the Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge8wekyb3d8bbwe folder and click Rename. Highlight the Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge8wekyb3d8bbwe folder. Here is how you can do it: 1) Go to C:\Windows\SystemApps. What I came up with were items such as "amd64_microsoft-windows-edge-edgecontent_31bf3856ad364e35_. This is by far the easiest way for you to do if you want to disable your Edge browser.
None of the results were the same as this post indicated. I tried searching my computer for the "\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\83.0.478.58\Installer" folder, as well as anything with "edge" in it. I tried to follow the instructions on this post but I did not have the same folder structure. I too, would like to remove the new version of Edge - when it updated itself, it removed all the favorites and left me with none.
